How to Board & Exit the SIR

You only pay fare when entering or exiting at St. George or Tompkinsville stations. If you are travelling on the SIR and don’t need to go to either one of those stations, then you travel for free.

Every door will open up on each train car automatically at each station. You do not need to request stops or press any buttons or levers to open train doors.

Transfer Rules

At St. George station, riders of the SIR can transfer to the Staten Island Ferry for free. You can also transfer to and from any of the Staten Island bus routes.
