Taxis in Tokyo
The best way of getting a taxi in Japan is using the JapanTaxi app. It is much faster to use the app than calling a taxi dispatcher and waiting for a taxi to arrive.
Sony has recently launched a taxi hailing app called S.RIDE. This app will hail a taxi in all of Tokyo’s 23 wards and the Musashino and Mitaka areas.

Taxis are readily available in Tokyo. There are two types of vehicles available:
Fares
Taxi fares are pretty simple in Tokyo. Taxis start at a ¥750 base fare that includes 2km and it is ¥90 for every 280 meters after that. Taxi fares increase by 20% at night time (10:00 p.m. - 5:00 a.m.). You can pay your fare using cash, credit card, Suica or Pasmo card.
