The route 747 bus in Montréal operates 24/7 service to Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) from the downtown core of the city. There are two route options available for the 747 bus.

Tickets

There are 2 different ways you can purchase entrance onto the 747 bus:

Cash Fare

You can pay a cash fare when boarding the bus of $10.00. Note that you can only use coins when paying by cash and must have exact change. You can also buy a ticket on the 747 from one of the fare vending machines at YUL airport. These vending machines take cash, credit and debit cards.

OPUS Card

OPUS Card is the reloadable transit card in Montréal. You can use OPUS Card to pay for your 747 airport bus fare by tapping on the card reader at the front of the bus near the driver. Note: If you have a monthly, weekly, 1 day , 3 day or unlimited weekend pass already valid on your OPUS card, you will not be charged any extra for your 747 $10 fare. If you want to buy your 747 fare ahead of time, use an Occasional Card.

There are two types of 747 bus routes that you can take:

Airport to Lionel-Groulx Station

This is an express route that takes approximately 30 minutes depending on traffic. It will connect the airport to Lionel-Groulx Métro Station which operates on the Orange and Green lines.

Airport to Berri-UQAM Station

This route goes further into downtown making stops along the way at different hotels. It takes approximately 1 hour and connects the airport to Berri-UQAM Métro Station which is on the Orange, Green and Yellow Métro lines. Check out the route map below to see the stops for this route.

How to Board & Exit The 747 Bus

To get picked up by a bus, all you need to do is stand at the bus stop. People in Montreal line up while waiting at a bus stop so be sure not to skip ahead of anyone in line. If you are boarding a bus, you will have to board at the front of the vehicle near the driver door.

You can pay your fare on a bus in one of two ways: cash, transfer or OPUS card. To pay cash, deposit your coins into the ticket machine at the front of the bus near the driver. A receipt will pop out for you once you pay the full fare and your change will be given. If you are using OPUS card, you can tap your card on the top of the fare box.

You must request a stop and open the doors yourself to exit a bus. To request a stop on a bus, pull the yellow line, or press a red stop (Arrêt) button. Exit at the back of the bus. You will have to press the vertical bar on the rear doors.

Transfer Rules

You can transfer between the 747 bus and Metro, or another bus free of charge if you have an OPUS Card with a monthly, weekly, 1 day , 3 day or unlimited weekend pass. If you are planning to transfer to public transportation and are not using one of those fares, you will pay the standard fare when transferring.
