How to Pay Your Metro Fare
You can pay your Metro fare at the ticket collector booth, or by tapping your OPUS card at the gates inside the Metro station. If you are using a paper ticket, insert the ticket into the front of the gate. See detailed photos below for pictures of where to tap and insert your fare cards and tickets.
How to Board & Exit The Metro
Every door will open up on each metro subway car automatically at every station. You do not need to request stops or press any buttons or levers to open the subway car doors. When boarding, make sure you stand to the side of the door to allow exiting passengers to leave the vehicle first.
Transfer Rules
You can freely transfer to and from different subway lines on the Montréal Metro system. You can also transfer from the Metro to the Bus as long as your transfer is within 2 hours of you first using your ticket. Example: You can transfer from the Orange Metro line at Station Sherbrooke to the 144 bus.
