Istanbul has 400 buses operating 10 main routes in the city. If your destination cannot be reached by metro or tram, you may have to rely on one of these busses to get to your destination. Buses account for about one third of Istanbul's transportation.

How to Board & Exit the Bus
To board a bus, step on at the front of the bus near the driver. To request a stop, press the request stop button on a nearby pole. When it comes time to get off the bus at your stop, exit at the rear doors.
Transfer Rules
If you are using your Istanbulkart, you get a discounted fare when transferring between the funicular and metro. You only get the discounted fare if your transfer is within 2 hours of the initial use of the Istanbulkart.
