Toronto, Canada

The TTC has 11 streetcar routes across the city with the majority of them operating in the downtown region. Streetcars operate on the surface level city streets of Toronto and often share the road with cars.

Streetcar System Map

This is the TTC Streetcar System Map. Streetcar routes are numbered in the 500s and this map shows how they connect with Subway stations.

How to Board & Exit a Streetcar

To get picked up by a streetcar, all you need to do is stand at a streetcar stop. If you are boarding one of the older TTC streetcars, you will have to board at the front of the vehicle near the driver door. The newer TTC streetcars have buttons on each door, and you can board at any door.

Unlike the subway, you must request a stop and open the doors yourself to exit a streetcar. To request a stop on an older street car, pull the yellow line. To request a stop on the newer streetcars, just press the “doors open” button on the inside of the streetcar door. Exiting newer streetcars requires you to just push the red button on the inside of the door.

Transfer Rules

You can freely transfer to and from a streetcar to an adjacent bus, streetcar or subway route.
