Paris Métro
The subway (called Métro) in Paris consists of 302 stations across 16 different lines. Subway lines are identified by number, colour and terminal stations: Line 1 (Yellow) La Défense to Château de Vincennes, Line 2 (Blue) Porte Dauphine to Nation, etc.

How to Board & Exit The Métro
When entering the Métro station, tap your Navigo card on the purple part of the turnstile or insert your paper ticket with the magnetic stripe facing up. Follow the signs to your platform. When waiting on the platform for the subway, stand beside where the subway doors stop so that you don’t get in the way of exiting passengers. To enter and exit the subway car, you may need to press a button or lift a lever on the doors.
Transfer Rules
You can transfer freely between other métro lines and RER lines (within Paris) for 2 hours after first using your ticket.
