Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ)

Toronto UP Express (YYZ)

Toronto, Canada

The Union-Pearson Express (UP Express) is a train that travels from Toronto’s Union Station to Pearson International Airport. Making only two stops on the way, it is the fastest way to get from downtown Toronto to YYZ. Those stops are Bloor Station (Bloor Street West and Dundas Street West) and Weston Station (Weston Road and Lawrence Avenue West). If you happen to find yourself in those parts of the city, the UP Express is also a great option for getting downtown fast.

Tickets

There are 2 different ways you can purchase entrance onto the UP Express:

Cash Fare

You can pay a cash fare at any UP Express station at one of the ticketing kiosks. The kiosks accept cash, debit and credit cards.

Presto Card

A Presto Card is a debit card that will automatically deduct the correct ticket amount depending on where you are travelling. While this is the same card used to use The TTC, using your Presto Card on the UP Express requires you to tap the correct terminal depending on your destination. If you are travelling from Union Station to Weston Station, you tap at a different place compared to a trip from Union Station to the airport. In addition to this, you are also required to tap your card after exiting the UP Express. This way, your card will be debited the correct amount for your trip.

How to Board & Exit The UP Express

Every door will open up on each train car automatically at each station. You do not need to request stops or press any buttons or levers to open UP train doors.

Transfer Rules

The UP Express operates differently than the TTC, however they do offer discounted fares if you transfer to the TTC after riding the UP Express. This is only available to riders using Presto Cards, and you must tap your Presto Card on a specific terminal at Union Station or Dundas West Station. See the detailed photos below.
