Tickets & Fares

Toronto, Canada

The TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) is Toronto’s public transit network of subways, streetcars and busses. Serving close to 1.3 million riders on an average business day, the TTC is the cheapest way to get around the city of Toronto. The TTC operates in a fixed price model, it only costs one amount to use the TTC in one direction. You do not pay by distance, nor by time spent travelling.

Tickets

There are 3 different ways you can purchase entrance onto the TTC. Each fare type can be purchased using cash, credit cards or debit cards at the subway station of your choice. Some of the newer streetcars can accept credit cards, cash and debit cards directly on the vehicle.

Cash Fare •$3.25

You can pay a cash fare at any Subway station, bus or streetcar. You will not get any change back if paying a cash fare on a bus or streetcar.

Presto Card

A Presto Card is a debit card that will automatically deduct $3.20 each time you tap it to get on the TTC. The cards can be purchased from Presto Card vending machines, usually located in TTC subway station. The cards cost $6.00 in addition to the amount you wish to load onto the card. Presto Cards can only be used for one person at a time, but offer free transfers in any direction for up to 2 hours after the initial tap. You can register your Presto Card online and set up auto-refill from a credit card to make sure you never run out of money. You can also use the Presto mobile app to instantly load your card if you are not near a TTC station or computer.

  • Single Fare - $3.25

  • Two Fares - $6.50

  • Day Pass - $13.50
