Taipei Opens New Subway Line

Taipei Metro, the subway operator in the Taiwanese capital, recently celebrated the opening of a new MRT subway line. The Circular Line (or Yellow Line as colours represent different lines more easily in the Taipei Metro system) opened with 14 stations and connects to the existing Orange and Green lines. These 14 stations are the first stage of the line with expansion plans confirmed for 18 additional stations and 10 more planned but not confirmed. The Taipei Metro Circular Line is the first subway line in Taipei to have driverless vehicles.

If you’re in Taipei, you can ride the Circular Line for free until Sunday March 1st, 2020.

We’ve updated our Taipei Subway (MRT) page with the new line and the discounted fare information.
